Rachel Lyons, our PFM intern, is a freshman from Minneapolis, Minnesota in the School of Media and Public Affair at the George Washington University where she is currently majoring in mass communication and minoring in art history. She is also a part of International Politics cohort of the Women’s Leadership Program, a writer for Planet Forward––a student publication focused on sustainability, a member of the Black Student Union, and a volunteer coordinator with an art gallery on campus. Rachel has a background in journalism as the editor-in-chief of her high school’s news magazine and loves to write and read for fun. Her interests are wide ranging and she contemplates changing her major every other week. Her goals for the future include finishing school at GWU, attending either graduate school or law school, and joining the Peace Corps.

Submit your design for the Palisades July 4th Parade T-shirt Design Contest
Every year the Palisades Citizens Association sells t-shirts to help raise money for our July 4th parade and picnic. Stop by the art and design table at the Palisades Farmers Market Sunday April 23, 10 am -12 pm.
Why don’t you try your hand at creating a special, one-of-a-kind design? We will have on hand colored pens, pencils and paper to make your award winning design. Everyone is welcome. All ages are encouraged to submit a design.
T-shirt design is due April 30th, 2017
1. Maximum of four colors
2. Submit design on 8- 1⁄2” x 11” white paper
3. Must be a Palisades resident (open to children and adults)
4. Please include:2017 and the word PALISADES in your design
5. Please include name, email and phone number on the back.
